Hey guys I have to apologize, I’ve been gone for 10 days or so and my trout roadtrip took a temporary detour.  I guided some awesome people Tony, Julie, Don, and Diane in early August and then rolled.   My main outfitter, Joe Cummings moved some things around so I could take a vacation with my family and we went to the Pacific Coast outside of Neah Bay WA.

We caught salmon, observed whales and sea lions, saw what remains of a couple surviving 2,000 year old trees in the Olympic National Forrest,  and hung out with relatives.  It’s tough/financially/ to take very many days off with a seasonal job, but it was a much needed break from rowing in the MT heat!

I’m back in the saddle rowing again for a couple more months now and fall is getting real close.  In a few weeks we will be hunting pheasants, ducks, geese, elk, deer, all kinds of different critters to put in the freezer.

We have a ton of trout to stalk in the next two months, with in my opinion the Fall being one of the best times to target rising trout especially.  Lots of new bugs starting to show, my buddy Patch saw a hekuba yesterday and before too long mahogeneys will be rearing their delicious heads.

Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope everyone has enjoyed Summer and are looking forward

to the upcoming Fall, I know my family and I are.

CYA,
Brooks
