Ronnie with an 18 inch cutbow

The last 4 days the fishing has been pretty damn good!  20 to 25 fish days have been the norm and yesterday I saw the first real good trico hatch of the season for me with big boys slurping.  We did have to go to 6x but they would sip a para wing #20 or #18 trico.  We did stick one big 20 inch plus fish and a lot of 16-19 inch  fish out of one pod.  I had these cool guys from New Jersey and we had a blast.  Trout were wacking pink hoppers and some special ones that I can only show you if you hop in my boat!

The water temps have dropped and the fish are hot again. One rainbow jumped seven times yesterday.   Fish feel the fall in the water with longer, cooler nights dropping that water temp.  Hoppers, tricos, summer stones, have all been showing up on the Clark Fork and Bitterroot the last week and I’ve seen some hekubas.

Man I am so glad this summer heat is almost gone and we can shoot heads, shoot birds.   Yahoo !!!!!!!!!!! Summer is almost gone, time to put the pads and the helmet on , man up and get some Action!!!!  Rising fish, flying birds, and bugling elk.    That’s why we live in this state.
