Good morning fly fishing aficionados. May and June were extremely productive fishing months. June on the Bitterroot was pretty epic with dries and big fish. Those cloudy, rainy days in late June had some gators on the prowl. We guided a bunch on the Missouri in May and it was solid like it typically is with toad brownies mixed with bows. We also had a few really fun days on the Blackfoot with the big bugs/ salmon flies, and goldens popping.

Late July and into mid August we have taken a break from running trips. The rivers here got low and warm. We self implemented Hoot Owl and guided some but we decided to give the resource a break. We did get out and run some northern pike trips and that was mad fun.
Recently I have hooked up my boat and trailer and have run a few trips on the lower Clark Fork and the upper Bitterroot. The fishing has been fair, we’ve had some significant rain storms. This much appreciated precipitation has been welcoming. The Bitterroot is actually in pretty good shape right now also with Painted rocks releasing its’ cold water into the system.

The fall is only weeks away and Bring It! Autumn is the best time to fish, hunt, travel, watch football, go Trick or Treating, you name it. I get back into guiding full swing again here in a few days and I am looking forward to the best time of year and saying farewell to these hot Summers- Uhg!

Thank you to all of our guests and Patrons who have stuck with us or decided to give us a chance.
I hope you enjoy a few pictures from mid 2025 that I’ve posted here.
Happy upcoming Fall.
