Joe and I fished on Monday It was fun initially but my casting was bad, I did manage to catch a fish on a dry fly, and stuck some nice fish on droppers, it got windy and blew us off the river after a 2 hour float on the Bitterroot. The float was fun though, I feel like the dropper fishing can be great right now, the dry fly fishing is a week or so out. It is supposed to get warm and that will get em going. I did see some capnias and bigger stone’s/ skwala are coming shortly.
I start guiding next week so I have been busy, well kind of, see for yourself.
Brooks Jessen’s checklist
– Get new BBQ grill, we grill lunches for our clients and I wore my last one out from cooking ribs and burgers.
-Repack wheel bearings on both of my trailers, I bought a new drift boat trailer last year, and I’ll be damned if the bearings and seals didn’t go out, luckily I found this out from the guys at Tire O Rama and avoided a catastrophe.
– Sight in my elk rifle, I put a new scope on it and I don’t want to not be ready next Fall, Why am I doing this now?
-Fix Joe Cummings chronograph, I can’t properly sight in my rifle if I don’t know how fast my bullets are going!
-Fix my truck bumper. I backed into a nice metal pole and trashed my bumper and tailgate, good times.
-Check out the Sunday Slump buster from shootinghead.com, this is a must but it might be more than R rated so be careful, no Kids!
-Fix my freddies, I need to trim the posts, but I still want them to hold up a dropper.
-Color the legs on my stone-fly nymphs, they aren’t the correct shade, they should be olive, not green, and I have 20 dozen times 8 legs per bug, this should be fun!
DUDE, I need to get back ON THE RIVER!!!!!!!!
You better get busy. That's one heck of a list. But it's all list worthy.
